Geoff Tudhope
Geoff Tudhope, MA (Cantab) is committed to the art of leadership and the worth of business enterprise. His focus is on the challenge of finding practical, fair and lasting solutions.
He is a mentor with Merryck & Co who inspire mainly Fortune 500 CEOs globally to build successful businesses and lead fulfilling lives. For a decade he also served as Chair of Café direct Plc, the leading fair-trade hot drinks brand which strengthens the influence, income and security of farmers in developing countries and links them directly with consumers. Geoff is educated at Cambridge University and is also a founder member of The Globally Responsible Leadership Initiative.
In his main professional career, 28 years with ICI Plc, he led specialty chemical businesses across the USA, Asia and Europe, was a member of the global executive and head of human resources (60,000 employees), where he was the principal leader in integrating 16,000 new employees as part of a successful acquisition of an $8bn business from Unilever. Earlier, he was CEO of ICI Surfactants responsible for leading over 20 business units located around the world. When he was CEO of ICI Fluorochemicals, he steered the business through the heat of the global warming debate and spearheaded the development of non-ozone depleting gas products.
Geoff’s earlier years were spent in New Zealand, Zimbabwe and the UK. He is an alumnus of the Aspen Institute, HRH Prince of Wales Business & the Environment programme and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
Married with two children now both adults, Geoff is a gardener, plays all forms of tennis and is attempting to become a cabinetmaker.
